News from: Compass Recovery College

Compass Recovery College offers free mental health and wellbeing workshops for everyone. Whether you’re looking to develop your understanding and skills in self-care and wellbeing, you are supporting someone with mental health-related challenges, or you work in mental health services, Compass would love to welcome you.

We offer a wide range of workshops that are both positive and inspiring in the hope of helping you on your journey to recovery and to help increase positive wellbeing. As a participant, you can choose which workshops interest you or suit your needs and register with us online. We operate on a self-referral basis so there is no need for a GP referral.

We have workshops both online and in person, the new workshops we have starting within the next couple of weeks are:

Coffee and Chat: These weekly social sessions are a perfect opening for those looking to start their wellbeing journey. Come join a group of kind and supportive people for an hour of social support every Tuesday morning. Peer Workers and Compass staff come along to offer informal support.

Walk Talk Walk: Another weekly social session including a slow gentle walk around Palmer Park to take in the nature and socialise with Peer workers, Compass staff and other individuals on their recovery journey, with a final stop at Tutu’s Ethiopian Table for refreshments.

Story Telling: We are working with, a story telling project, Story Buddies to provide people with the space to create and share their stories. A great course for making social connections and improving your self-confidence.

Living a more Mindful Life: Explores ways to find and achieve mindfulness within our day to day lives. Learn key mindfulness techniques to help reduce stress and anxiety.

We still have plenty of space left on our courses, particularly Coffee and Chat, Walk Talk Walk, Living a more Mindful Life, and Story Telling so please do get in touch to register online via email compass.opportunities@reading.gov.uk or phone 0118 937 3945.
