Get Online sessions are opening up again

News from: Reading Voluntary Action

We are pleased at last to be able to announce that our Get Online drop-in sessions are gradually starting up again at venues around Reading.

We have already started monthly Friday sessions at a new venue – Oak Tree House in Dee Park. The next session there will be on Friday 8 October at 11:00. The sessions are in a sheltered housing block, but anyone is welcome to drop in and ask for help.

Monthly sessions are also restarting at the Whitley Wood Community Centre’s Tuesday community hub, on the last Tuesday of the month – the first session there will be on Tuesday 28 September, 10:00-11:30. Just call in with your device or we can use one of our laptops to help you.

Sessions at libraries and other venues will be starting again as soon as these can be arranged.

Are you interested in helping someone to learn about computers and technology? We are also starting to recruit more volunteers for the project. Sessions will be at various times and venues, mostly on weekdays, and generally last 1-2 hours. If you are interested please email david.neale@rva.org.uk or visit www.go-reading.org/get-involved.

For people without internet access we have set up a helpline on 0118 334 1095 where we will be giving out recorded messages about the service. You can also leave us a message if you would like remote help or have an enquiry about our service.
