Reading Caribbean Nation CIC (RCN) is a local Reading organisation incorporated in 2024 to organise the Reading Windrush Parade and Festival.
As the organizers of the Reading Windrush Parade and Festival, a widely recognized community-wide event, RCN already has strong relationships with numerous community groups. Many of these groups are represented on the RCN committee, ensuring diverse and inclusive decision-making.
As a Caribbean community group we are passionate about working collaboratively with the diverse communities, local authorities and business owners within the Reading area to empower the local Caribbean community, build strong ties with other community groups and facilitate a legacy within the local area that has its foundation in unity.
Our membership is open to all within the Reading area and already has representation from many cultural groups with capacity for many more. We intend to build on this to host other events that further the goal of community cohesion and a voice for all.
We are inviting all Community groups to get involved with the Reading Windrush Parade and Festival. This could be as a volunteer, a vendor (selling foods, arts, crafts, merchandise), as an advertiser (promoting a community group/activity/cause), as a sponsor, or in the parade, displaying costume(s) either cultural or created as part of a “Mass Band”.
