Reading’s High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) Cultural Programme is offering funding to community groups and organisations from the Oxford Road to develop new creative projects with local people to celebrate the history and diverse cultures of the Oxford Road.
Projects need to offer local community members the opportunity to take part in creative and cultural activities together that:
-are inspired by the history of the area and celebrate the diverse cultures of the Oxford Road
-are co-created with them involving them in the design and delivery of the activities
-enable them to work with an artist or creative practitioner to co-create work that is meaningful and relevant to them and the local community.
Community groups and organisations from the Oxford Road can apply, and the support will be provided by Culture Mix Arts a respected Reading based cultural organisation. A small grant of up to £4,000 is provided to set up and run the creative project idea with the members of your group and/or your local community.
The application process is in two stages. Stage 1 is a short Expression of Interest. Successful applicants at Stage 1 will be invited to make a Stage 2 application and will be required to develop their project idea further and submit a clear description of the project including the aim and objectives, project schedule and project budget.
There are two ways to apply at Stage 1: by completing the Expression of Interest Form or by sending a short video or audio recording of your answers to the questions on the form (no longer than 4 minutes) to HSHAZ@reading.gov.uk. The deadline for submissions for Stage 1 is 17:00 on Monday 18 July 2022.
