News from: Reading Voluntary Action (RVA)
Reading Voluntary Action is delighted to announce the return of the annual Reading volunteers’ celebration event.
The event will celebrate those in our community who volunteer their time, talents and skills for the benefit of our town and takes place during the national Volunteers’ Week celebrations. It will be the first time we have hosted the event since the cancellation of the 2020 event due to Covid-19 restrictions.
We are also delighted to confirm that the event will be hosted in collaboration with our friends at The Museum of English Life, providing both a unique venue and an opportunity to visit their fascinating collection “after hours”.
With drinks, food, music and other activities, the event promises to provide both an excellent opportunity to treat your own volunteer teams and an opportunity to come together with colleagues from across the town.
In addition, the event will see the launch of our new Team Reading welcome initiative, designed to provide resources and infrastructure and help build a sense of community and shared endeavour amongst the diverse set of individuals who are involved in volunteering and community action in its many forms. This is one of the pilot projects identified via our collaborative work on a Vision for Volunteering in Reading.
As with previous celebration events we want the event to be open to all so there will be no charge for attending, we will invite organisations to make a voluntary contribution after the event.
Want to secure places for your team? Complete the form found HERE by Friday 28 April to express an interest and we will be in contact to arrange ticket allocations and provide further details.
