Using the Smallmead tip? Don’t forget your orange sticker

From 1 July the re3 recycling centres in Reading and Bracknell are introducing new visitor access requirements. Residents are being reminded to use the vinyl permits that have now been posted to households in the Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Borough Council areas.

Households will only be given one permit, but this can be transferred between vehicles – if you prefer not to display the sticker all the time on your windscreen the suggestion is to put it back on its backing paper and keep it in a safe place for reuse. Other suggestions are to use an empty CD case or clear plastic wallet to hold the sticker.

If you arrive without a permit you will still be allowed access to the tip if you can provide proof of address, although displaying your permit is recommended to save time.

If you live in the borough of Reading but have not received your sticker by 1 July, there will be an application form available on the Reading Borough Council website.
