Time to register your RESCUE clean-up event

Reading RESCUE is held twice yearly, in March and October, bringing the public, community and the business sectors together to plan and deliver this popular outdoor clean-up event. The next event is from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 March, and the deadline for registering your own RESCUE clean-up on that day is Monday 2 March.

This is your chance to make a difference to Reading’s woodlands, waterways, green spaces and streets, and your team can get support to deliver a safe and co-ordinated event with the help of the RESCUE steering group.

Clean-up teams are provided with litter pickers, gloves, bags and crucially a rubbish pick-up to take the litter and debris found away.

  1. Reading Lions Club are part of the “Lions Club”, which is the world’s largest volunteer group. Part of our work not only helps worthy causes and people, but also we help community work.

We have adopted County Lock in Reading where we conduct regular cleans which include litter picking, graffiti removal, path cleaning, painting, removal of litter from side stream, tree pruning. If you visit our web site there is more information about what we do, who we are along with pictures etc of our work at County Lock. I would like to register for this event and work in partnership to help maintain the Lock area…Regards Michael Holloway
