School admission arrangements are the rules used in the allocation of school places, and must comply with the School Admissions Code. Arrangements are determined by the Admissions Authority. There is an annual procedure to set the admission arrangements – where an Admission Authority wishes to make changes, they must consult.
Reading Borough Council is the Admission Authority for community primary, infant and junior schools in the Borough. They are proposing to make changes to the current over-subscription criteria to give priority for children in receipt of pupil premium within each of the current criteria.
Local Authorities are required to have schemes to co-ordinate admission to schools.
Reading Borough Council co-ordinated admission schemes for Reading residents apply to all maintained schools and academies. They welcome feedback and comments on the proposals – you can contact the Admissions Team using the contact details below. The closing date for feedback is 27 February 2015.
If you wish to respond to this consultation please use the School Admissions Proposals 2016 Response Form.
