FSI Small Charity Training – Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations

    09:30 - 16:30Reading Voluntary Action

Third Floor, Reading Central Library (rear doors), Abbey Square, Reading RG1 3BQ

In partnership with Reading Voluntary Action, and with support from Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI) is coming to Reading for the first time to deliver a training event on the 7 March, offering small and local charities one of their most popular fundraising subjects: Fundraising from Trusts & Foundations.

With an estimated 9,000 independent trusts and foundations in the UK giving £2 billion in grants each year they are a prime source of funding for your charity. This course aims to give participants the essential skills and knowledge they need to develop successful fundraising from trusts and foundations.

This course will benefit those who want to develop, refresh and improve their strategies for successful Trust and Foundation fundraising, including researching, selecting and applying to potential funders. You will learn how to find charitable trusts that can provide funding, along with how to develop a funding plan, apply for funding and follow up your applications.

The course is heavily subsidised for small charities and voluntary organisations and costs £15 for FSI members. You will need to first join the FSI, but this is free for most small charities.

For more information on the FSI, how to join and to book your place see the website at www.thefsi.org/services/training
