    Disability Awareness Fun Day

    Reading’s Physical Disability and Sensory Needs Network (PDSN) is hosting the town’s first Disability Awareness Day on Saturday 17 June 2017. The event will celebrate the diversity of Reading residents and visitors who may have a physical disability, sensory need or neurological condition. Disabled people, their families, carers, voluntary organisations and other service providers will have the opportunity to gather and be part of what promises to be a fun-filled and informative day.

    The programme includes:
    -The Rock Choir (outside the Civic Centre at 11:00 and at The Oracle/Broad Street later)
    -REMAP – to find out how you can get free bespoke disability aids for daily living needs
    -Reading Families Forum – Parent carers
    -Exercise with a Tai Chi session
    -Arthritis Matters
    -Advice for staying safe
    -Seated Dance to Music and relaxation.

    There will be blood pressure checks from the Stroke Association.

    A variety of service providers will be on hand to answer queries: Able World, Forestcare, Compass Recovery College, Shopmobility The Oracle, MS Therapy Centre, Reading Fibromyalgia, Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service, Reading Association for the Blind, Jelly Do, and many many more.

    Light refreshments and snacks will be on offer.
