    Chand Raat Eid Festival Reading

    15:00 - 23:30University of Reading

    Whiteknights Campus, Reading RG6 6UR

Chand Raat means ‘night of the moon’; that makes it a unique evening event of its kind. The Chand Raat Eid Festival is a traditional festivity marking the end of the fasting month of the Islamic Calendar (Ramadan) and the Islamic annual festivity (Eid ul Fitr).

The Sath Sath community group aims to celebrate the Eid festivity by promoting culture, friendship and harmony. The event engages multicultural communities across the UK. The festival presents an exuberant cultural display of multicultural British diverse communities working together.

The festival is an opportunity for families to get together, do Eid shopping and eat delicious foods from a variety of stalls. Community groups, individuals, and businesses will have a variety of stalls to promote businesses, services, handicrafts, art, painting, clothes, jewellery, henna, bangles, shoes and toys and offer a large variety of ethnic food.

The Chand Raat Eid Festival is a non-alcoholic family event that provides a fantastic opportunity for families and young people to enjoy wonderful amusements, rides, entertainment activities and a delicious variety of foods. This year’s Chand Raat is mainly indoors, with funfair rides and other activities outside.
