How to dispose of your old Christmas tree

Do you have a traditional Christmas tree that will need to be thrown out this January?

Reading Borough Council is providing drop-off points in car parks around the town for disposal of Christmas trees, starting on Wednesday 2 January and closing on Friday 18 January. The trees will be chipped by the Council and used in a range of landscaping schemes across the Borough.

Drop-off points locations include the Mapledurham Playing Fields, Clayfield Copse, Hills Meadow, Rivermead Leisure Complex, Kensington Road Recreation Ground, Prospect Park, Meadway Recreation Ground, Tilehurst allotments (Armour Hill), Palmer Park Sports Stadium, Whitley Wood Recreation Ground and South Reading Leisure Centre (Northumberland Avenue). Trees can also be taken to the main recycling centre at Smallmead – don’t forget to take your orange permit.
