Coronavirus Response Volunteers ready for action

News from: Reading Voluntary Action

People from across our town have answered the call to join the ranks of 1000s of existing volunteers and be part of Team Reading in response to the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Organisations who are currently registered with Reading Voluntary Action can call upon this ever-growing pool of volunteer support to help if they:
-Face increased demand on their vital services as a result of the outbreak.
-Are delivering new services in response to the outbreak.
-Require support to deliver vital services due to reduced capacity during the outbreak.

Once submitted, tasks can be sent to a targeted subset of the Team, based on location within the town, availability, existing DBS (self-declared) and access to own transportation. Those interested can then contact organisations directly or complete an expression of interest that will be managed by the RVA team to avoid the possibility of frontline services being overwhelmed by volunteer enquiries.

We have developed a simplified version of our task submission form. Our Volunteering Development Manager Steve Hendry (steve.hendry@rva.org.uk) is available to assist should you have any questions or need assistance completing the form.

You will find a wide range of information on our dedicated Coronavirus Community Action page (http://rva.org.uk/coronavirus-community-action), including links to the latest government advice and to advice on how to ensure activities can be delivered in a way that is safe for all.
