A package of transport improvements for the western section of Coley Park – including the introduction of walking and cycling improvements and parking measures – is the subject of a community consultation exercise.
The proposals have come forward following a comprehensive review of existing transport issues in Southcote and the western section of Coley Park, and future pressures brought about by the residential development on the former Defra site.
Proposals outlined to the local community will include:
– Managing increasing levels of traffic and parking pressures
– Improving pedestrian and cycle facilities to provide safer access to schools and community facilities
– Encouraging better use of existing pedestrian and cycle routes and improving public transport flows to and from Coley Park.
People can find out more and also leave comments and suggestions at www.reading.gov.uk/coley-transport-study. The closing date for comments will be Tuesday 18 October.
