Reading University 2014 Brand Jam

Reading University will be holding a structured four week ‘design-thinking’ brand ‘jam’ with Part 3 typography & design students in November 2014, working exclusively with not-for-profits.

The students take on briefs and develop a visual identity and any other marketing collateral they feel is appropriate over four weeks and it’s completely free.

Organisations are under no obligation to use the work the students produce, but may if they wish. This exercise is particularly useful for organisations that are ‘start-ups’, need a ‘brand refresh’, or want to be involved in a ‘rebranding exercise’.

Reading University took on five causes last year, and produced some very good results. Two of the clients used the work after the project was over.

Organisations are invited to act as a ‘client’ for the students and attend:

– A Briefing day at 10am Tuesday 11 November 2014, where the organisations will explain what they do for 30 minutes to a small group of students who have chosen to work on the project (usually around 50) and then be available for questions.

– A Presentation day on Tuesday 9 December 2014, to listen to the students’ ideas and give instant feedback.
