Have your say on how Reading should develop over the next 20 years

Reading Borough Council have started producing a new Local Plan, which will set out the planning policies to guide development in Reading up to 2036. This will replace the existing planning policy documents.

This is the first stage in consulting on the plan, asking which issues the plan should tackle, and how it should deal with them. The consultation takes the form of an Issues and Options paper, which is a discussion paper rather than a draft plan, and asks a number of questions on how much development there should be, where it should take place, and how various planning issues should be dealt with. A Sustainability Appraisal, which assesses the environmental, social and economic effects of the various options is also available.

The full Issues and Options document, along with accompanying documents and more details on the consultation, is available at www.reading.gov.uk/newlocalplan.
