Celebrate National Older People’s Day in Reading
Richfield Avenue, Reading RG1 8EQ
Reading is celebrating National Older People’s Day on Monday 9 October 2017 with a fun-filled afternoon of events at the Rivermead Leisure Complex.
This annual free event celebrates the contribution of older people to our communities. The festivities kick off at 13:00 with a welcome from the Mayor of Reading, Councillor Rose Williams, followed by a performance by the Firtree Choir. This will be followed by a range of interactive activities throughout the afternoon including guest speakers, song and dance, choirs, arts and crafts and discussion groups.
The focus of this year’s day is to promote good mental health and wellbeing in older people. Many of the presentations and services available will help people to find out more about how they can best live full and satisfying lives.
Come and join the fun! Please invite your friends and anyone you know who might benefit.
For further information about the programme and timing of the activities, please see this publicity flyer. You can also email opwg@reading.gov.uk or call 01189 372383.
