Bags of Help – funding opportunity for local green space

The second funding round for the Tesco Bags of Help grant scheme opened on Monday 18 April 2016.

The scheme is administered by Groundwork and funded by Tesco customers from the proceeds of the 5p charge for plastic carrier bags as a result of a government carrier bag levy.

Bags of Help is available to a wide range of community groups and organisations across England, Wales and Scotland and they can apply for grants to improve local green spaces that do not charge for access. Successful projects will go forward to a public vote in Tesco stores which will decide whether they receive a grant of £8,000, £10,000 or £12,000.
